Welcome to the Squirrel Planet!

The squirrel planet is Planet Earth. It's wherever you live. It is certainly Austin, Texas. And it is most especially (if we can be so presumptuous) the Town Lake Trail in Austin.

That's Buzz. To learn more about Buzz and other honored citizens of Squirrel Planet, click here.

The Squirrel Planet is about healing and transforming ourselves, our friends, neighbors, and families, and ultimately all of humanity. It's about respecting and honoring our planet - all the species (with some special attention to squirrels), and the other features, too - like trees, lakes, clouds, rainbows, sunsets, and crystals.

It's also about wonder and awe at nature and the universe - Mother Earth, Father Sun, all the stars and galaxies beyond, and all the stuff that's out there - and right inside us - that science doesn't know about yet.

Most of all, though, the Squirrel Planet is about fun and play!!! Welcome! Explore to your heart's content! Maybe then go and do a kindness for an animal whom you don't control. And, in any case, have a really magical, cosmic day!!!

Reading to Pumpkin.

Upcoming Events:

Thursday, July 17th, 2008: The Mayan Calendar - a free talk by Julie Gallagher

7:30pm, Whole Life Books, 1006 S. Lamar, Austin, TX - 443-6794.

As 2012 approaches, more people are inquiring about the Mayan Calendar and the significance of Dec. 21, 2012. Is this an end date, a beginning date or perhaps the end of "time" as we know it? Come join us for an evening on the Mayan calendar and the possible scenarios for the Winter solstice of 2012!

Julie Gallagher has been studying the Mayan Calendar for the past 13 years. She was awakened to it through an energetic experience/initation during the two center days of the 260 day sacred Tzolkin. Since that event Julie has been using it to understand how to "ride the waves" of those cycles.

Julie holds earth blessings every 13 days on the Lamar Pedestrian Bridge over Town Lake. She also teaches Mayan Calendar classes. July 25 is the Annual Day Out of Time Celebration at Pease Park 8 am to 10 pm.

Come join us on Thursday night - Blue Galactic Monkey!

Friday, July 25, 2008: The Fifth Annual Day Out of Time Celebration

Sunrise to Sunset, Pease Park (at the South End), Austin, Texas.

2005 Day Out of Time.

The Day Out of Time is like the New Year's Day of the 13-Moon Calendar. (365 days in a year divided by 28 equals 13 Moons in a year - with one day left over: July 25, the Day Out of Time.) It is a day for suspending everything and gathering with friends, neighbors, and family to contemplate, celebrate, and express gratitude for life, the Earth, each other, and all that we have. That could mean suspending work... Take the day off, if you can! (Or some part of it.) Ceremonies at 8:00am, 1:00pm and 8:00pm. Attractions all day long. Come celebrate with us! The Blessings on the Bridge Ceremonies happen at 12:00 noon on Magnetic Days (Mayan Calendar, Dreamspell version), which means every thirteen days. They are brief, simple, yet (we feel) elegant and moving. Their main purpose is simply to ask that the Town Lake Trail, the City of Austin, and the Entire Earth be blessed with loving kindness. The ceremony is non-denominational, although certainly not without its own distinctive character. All are invited. All dates for 2008-2009. Printable copy (pdf). More information.
